A brief history of
A.M.I.C.I. Liguria
A.M.I.C.I. Liguria was
born in late October 1997 thanks to a group of sick people. From then on, with
the help of the doctors and volunteers, our Association grew up to about 600
people (November, 2000), who are approximately 25% of sick persons in Liguria
Usage of data of our members
is strictly reserved; usually we use them to produce statistical analysis (e.g.
mean age, distribution in the territory, etc.)
Every year all members
of the Association meet at the "Assemblea annuale dei soci"; during
this event, which is also an occasion to meet specialists, we approve the
financial situation (in Italian) and the activity
plan (in Italian)
of the next months.
Our main objectives are:
Help sick people to live
together with their illness, deepening its features and learning how it
evolves.
Awaken health and institutional bodies to a better
care and services for people with IBD and, more in general, for all peoplem who
suffer of chronic diseases.
Assert, by voluntary service,
the main role of associations in a modern vision of integration between
sanitary service and sick people’s needs.
Our Association owns a statute law which gives full details of all aims and all
organisation task which permit our organisation’s management.
